Fennel is widely considered the dieters herb.  It works to rebalance the metabolism and reduce the appetite.  When using Fennel for it's weigh control properties, by making an infusion of the seeds and giving 2 cups a day is  sufficient. The tea is also good in re-establishing health intestinal flora and is useful for use in horses recovering from Flatuent Colic.

Fennel promotes the efficient functioning on the kidneys, liver, spleen and also assists in clearing  the lungs.  Fennel is also used in post chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Fennel Seeds are safe to feed to lactating mares and mares in late pregnancy.

Fresh Fennel can also be used to draw toxins from wounds, bits and alergic skin reactions.  As a powder Fennel can also be used as a Flea Repellent.
